let's get crafty: glitter hanger.

make your own glitter hanger from sarahmstyle.ca

hazel's new room is nearly complete. it certainly was fun designing two girls' rooms this time around after having them share a room.  their personalities, likes and dislikes are so very different!

hazel loves pinkpink and more pink! and if you add a little sparkle, even better.  she dances around in princess dresses and hosts tea parties daily.  her room fits her to a T. before i reveal her entire room, you'll get a good sneak peek of a few special spots.

on hazel's wall, above a fresh mint painted vintage sideboard bought second-hand, i installed a block of gold metallic hearts from Urban Walls.  {i may be one of urban walls' biggest fans!} layered on the hearts is a mini wall gallery featuring a DIY gold monogram, a few hazel-perfect art prints, and a handmade tissue garland.  to add a little sparkle, i made my own glitter hangers to display two of the art prints.

here's how you can make your own...

what you'll need.
  • trouser hanger {IKEA or similar}
  • gold spray paint
  • hot glue
  • glitter cardstock {i found mine at our local dollarstore}
  • pencil, ruler, exacto knife or scissors

the how-to.

1. spray paint your hanger in a well ventilated place and let dry.
2. trace or measure the wooden flat side of the hanger on to the back of your glitter cardstock.
3. trim a piece of card stock to size.
4. add hot glue to the wooden flat side of the hanger.
5. quickly place your glitter card stock on the hanger before the glue dries!

I hung our hangers with simple brass nails.  If they are a little finicky, use a little double sided tape to prevent shifting.
